Water React – Smart Humidity Sensors
The smart humidity sensors were developed by Attophotonics and have been optimized for commercial use in cooperation with Mondi, Naku and the FHWN.
HUMI-TAG (green drop) for optimized storage (at elevated relative humidity (>70%, left) --> color change to red-brown)
They find application in e.g. intelligent food packaging, which warns the costumer about wrong storage humidity. (Storage at high humidity is the main reason for premature loss of food quality and spoilage of e.g. cereals and bakery products.)

Multi-Colored Display of Humidity
Water React films show changes of relative humidity (RH) between 70-90% ultra-sensitively with bright colors.

Water React Irreversible Film
Drop-assays using a hydrophobic grid (mesh size: 1x1mm incl. grid) to prevent spreading.
Upon contact with water an irreversible color change e.g. from blue to yellow occurs (right).
